Dr. Rivera is a retired registered nurse and former clinical hypnotherapist who specialized in past-life regression. She trained under Brian Weiss at The Weiss Institute and earned a creative writing certificate from Wesleyan University. She also holds J.D. and Ph.D. degrees.
She lives with her husband in a cottage in the Hawaiian jungle, where she writes, hikes, and cares for their two cats and three guinea pigs.
She is deaf and has cochlear implants—her superpower is bionic hearing.
